This term out children are learning about the different countries. Parents have been coming in to share a bit about the country they are from. We have been learning songs, languages and have seen some of the traditional outfits people wear. The children have loved every minute of learning more about the people who are part of their community. We look forward to learning about even more countries. ... See more
With all this lovely weather the children have been enjoying exploring both the indoor and outdoor classroom environments. A lot of work was done in our outdoor classroom over the summer holidays to make the space more inviting to children. We are also working towards our sustainability goals and have been learning how to use the worm farm and compost bins. The other week we went on our termly trip to Berhampore primary School. The older children from the Montessori classes had organised a sports day for our children to participate in. Trips like these are great learning opportunities for our children in the form of Tuakana-Teina, older children teaching younger children. Welcome back to everyone for 2019! It is lovely to see all the children back at preschool and settled in. Over the last few weeks we have been doing lots of work to spruce up the back outdoor classroom area for the children's return to school on January 28th.
On Monday we went to Otari Wilton Bush. It was a beautiful day to explore. The children enjoyed learning about the different, bird, leaves, flowers, plants and bugs.
