As part of our learning on Maori legends, we went on a tour at Te Papa! It was so much fun and we learnt a lot! The children all really enjoyed the trip and got really involved with the tour guide!
As part of our topic study on transport, last week we went on a trip to the railway station. We learnt about buying tickets, finding the right platform and how to stay safe around trains. Last week we had a space party to mark the end of our space topic this term! The children had all created, with some help from their families, some amazing costumes! This week we went to the dojo to have a sports fun day. It was so much fun for children and adults alike!

This term out children are learning about the different countries. Parents have been coming in to share a bit about the country they are from. We have been learning songs, languages and have seen some of the traditional outfits people wear. The children have loved every minute of learning more about the people who are part of their community. We look forward to learning about even more countries. ... See more
With all this lovely weather the children have been enjoying exploring both the indoor and outdoor classroom environments. A lot of work was done in our outdoor classroom over the summer holidays to make the space more inviting to children. We are also working towards our sustainability goals and have been learning how to use the worm farm and compost bins. The other week we went on our termly trip to Berhampore primary School. The older children from the Montessori classes had organised a sports day for our children to participate in. Trips like these are great learning opportunities for our children in the form of Tuakana-Teina, older children teaching younger children.
